As many of you know, I started back to school this year. Here's a little background info before I get into the heart of this story.
I almost went back to school in 2003. I got as far as taking the placement tests. Those test scores are still available online. Here's the tie-in.
I had to take the placement tests again, obviously. When I compared my scores from this year to the scores in 2003, I noticed that my scores for this year were higher (out of high school for 16 years) when compared to my scores from 2003 (out of high school for 10 years).
SO - I actually got smarter by NOT going back to school...food for thought. Here's the story.
My goal for the next 2 years was to achieve the highest 2-year GPA known to man. I set my goal for a 5.67. I like that number. First semester, a few intro classes, not too bad. In one of my computer classes, I was doing fairly well. Great teacher...made the class fun...had a few really fun projects...but I digress...
Our last project was 2 parts...a simple C++ program and a 2 page HTML website... WYSIWYG was a no-no for this one. Fun times.
So I did the last 2 projects and did fairly well. I wanted to make sure I kept my streak alive. And I did. I got a 100.
Funny thing, though. My 100 brought my average for the class DOWN. You heard me...brought it DOWN. I'll leave the logic and the math behind it for another time. I have to spend my time figuring out how to get lower grades so my average goes up.
