9/3/2008 - So I decided to start a blog. Click on the links to the left to read individual entries. From time to time guest authors may appear. This is "The Big Time"
9/24/2009 - It's been a year and I'm still blogging from time to time.
Herping
I LOVE snakes. They have become an obsession for me since I got my first one in July of 2007. Since then I've added many to my collection (we've had a few pass on due to various illnesses...relocated a few others). I've tried "field herping" with no immediate success but I'm hopeful that, as it cools, I'll see better results.
We have a total of 7: 2 Eastern King Snakes, a California King Snake, 2 Corn Snakes, a Western Hognose Snake, and a Ball Python.

MMA
I've been training Jiu Jitsu foralmost 2 years now. I really enjoy it. We've had a few training partners come and go so our numbers are up and down.
Music
I am a singer/songwriter but haven't been entirely dedicated in recent months. I go through periods (sometimes months) where I don't write. I've gotten back into it a little as of late and actually have a new song half written...
Books and Reading for Pleasure
Brandi succeeded in turning me into a "reader". As much as I hated reading, especially through High School, I never thought I'd actually pick up a book voluntarily. Carl Hiaasen, Tom Perrotta, and Christopher Moore have quickly become 3 of my favorite authors. I recently read two of Neil Gaiman's books...they were good but I prefer a little more humor and a little less fantasy. After reading Anansi Boys - I've changed my opinion of Neil Gaiman a little. I like him more now.
CURRENTLY READING -
In the Kitchen
Brandi and I love to cook...shame we don't do it more often. We're in that rut now...been married a year...everyone's in a hurry or too tired...it's easier to run out and pick up something from Mickey D's or Taco Bell...
We'd love to own a restaurant but with the overhead being what it is....that and neither one of us knowing ANYTHING about running a business...
Maybe one day.
Fitness & Exercise
We had the obligatory membership to the "Y". It was our crutch. Any time we'd talk about needing to eat better or do more exercise it was always followed with "we have the "Y" membership". We never went. Desire was there...drive was not. So, we scrapped the membership and invested in a treadmill. It talks and works with an iPod and everything. Now if we could just get it to crawl under our feet and start moving...
Disc Golf
I've been playing disc golf on and off for some years now. Trey and Doug introduced me and I've been hooked since. It lags from time to time and I may go 3 months without playing a round. It's fun and frustrating all at the same time. Typical me...if I can't jump in and be great from the start I don't want to do it anymore.
Photography
I love to take pictures and seldom leave the house without my camera. I like nature and tend to look for photo ops with animals. We have a small pond that we installed at our home. I frequently see good sized frogs and toads basking on the sides or the lily pads and photograph them as often as I can. Haven't quite gotten the picture I want just yet as they frighten easily.
